Mazda can claim plenty of incredible vehicles under their family lineup and few are quite as remarkable as the 2020 Mazda CX-30. However, our Mazda dealers at Star Mazda tend to hesitate from forming an opinion on a car in a vacuum, which is why we were thrilled to compare this Mazda crossover with its leading competitor the 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander.
The 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander and the 2020 Mazda CX-30 are both equipped out of the gate with a four-cylinder engine, one being more powerful than the other. The engine in the Mitsubishi model is a 2.4-liter inline-four that produces 166 horsepower, which is pretty underwhelming compared to the four-cylinder in the Mazda CX-30. Pushing the Mazda CX-30 forward is a 2.5-liter inline-four engine that puts out 186 horsepower, which almost outperforms the six-cylinder option in the Mitsubishi Outlander.
That said, there is more to both of these cars than just powertrains, safety is a big deal too. Unfortunately, Mitsubishi drops the ball here as well, reserving features like automatic emergency braking and lane departure warnings for every trim but the base model. Mazda shakes things up a bit, being one of the few models on the market to provide automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and active lane control no matter what trim you buy.
The 2020 Mazda CX-30 is one of the many new Mazda cars that we offer at Star Mazda, and we’re always thrilled to show off our vehicles in a comprehensive test drive. We’ll put Mazda’s incredible build quality and design on display with complete confidence and can provide you with a car buying process that is transparent and tailored to your specific needs and expectations.
